Indian MarbleMakrana White is India's most celebrated marble, quarried from the ancient mines of Makrana in Nagaur district, Rajasthan — the same source used for the Taj Mahal. A highly calcitic stone (95–98% calcium carbonate), its luminous pure-white surface with subtle grey veining and exceptional polishability makes it the benchmark for luxury interiors across the world.

Have a Custom Question? Chat UsYes. Makrana marble from Nagaur district, Rajasthan was used for the Taj Mahal's dome, overlay and minarets, as well as the Victoria Memorial in Kolkata. It is India's oldest commercial marble quarry, and our stock comes from the same historic belt.
Makrana is highly calcitic — 95 to 98% calcium carbonate — which gives it very low porosity, high density and excellent polishability. This makes it harder-wearing than most white marbles and suitable even for high-footfall flooring.
Seal it with a quality impregnating sealer every 12–18 months, wipe spills promptly, and clean only with a pH-neutral stone cleaner. Avoid acidic agents like vinegar or lemon, which can etch any calcite-based marble.
